POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

One of my biggest dreams even before consider to study journalism, it is to being a sign-language interpreter. As a communication student I think that is very important to be inclusive and communicate everyone, transversally, I think that is a flaw of our curriculum not to include a subject related with sign-language, even if our university provides a CFG that impart the ASOCH here in Macul of sign-language, it has very few quotas and it is very basic.
As you could know, or maybe not, sign-language isn't like an "international" language, it is different in each country, so sadly I would have to study first here in Chile and then consider the possibility to study another language, but it is very difficult.
I think I would do a part-time course, because first of all it is very expensive, which I think it is another flaw of our system, because I think communication students should have benefits if they want to learn sign-language because it is a tool that allows a lot of people to participate and receive information. And second, because it takes a lot of time to being a professional sign-language interpreter, so I would work while I study.
Aside from learning sign-language, I would like to learn a third language (apart from Spanish and English), but something difficult like Chinese, mostly because I like the challenges but also because it would give me a lot of opportunities.
